[an error occurred while processing this directive]

An Oldenburg horse sometimes will foal two babies, but most of the time it will only foal one baby. Then, the demand for carthorses decreased in the first half of this century and the breed changed over to a modern, powerful riding and sport mount by adding more Thoroughbred blood. The common colors are black, dark bay, chestnut, and gray. An Oldenburg horse sometimes will foal two babies, but most of the time it will only foal one baby.

Oldenburg Horse

babies, baby

This is the heaviest German warm blood breed. It was founded in the 17th century and was developed from the heavy Friesian horse as a strong carthorse. Spanish and Arabian blood was bred into the breed and in the 19th century the breed was stabilized using Thoroughbred, Cleveland Bay, Anglo-Normandy, and Hanoverian stallions. An Oldenburg horse sometimes will foal two babies, but most of the time it will only foal one baby.
