This horse breed originated from the valley of the River Clyde. The original horse of this breed was a stocky animal measuring around 16 hands high. The horses of the past were largely of a solid dark bay, brown or black colors. When searching for horse breeders, clydesdale farms are somewhat hard to find as they require a large farm area.
