American Congress Horse Quarter

An american congress horse quarter will have carefully bred foals from high quality stud horses. This is the most popular breed in the United States. The breed is the result of crosses between Spanish-bred mares and English stallions. There are 16 recognized colors of coat in the breed: sorrel, bay, black, brown, chestnut, buckskin, dun, red dun, gray, palomino, red roan, grullo, blue roan, bay roan, perlino, and cremello. The most prominent color of the breed is sorrel. The breeders have been perfecting the bloodlines of the breed for over 50 years to produce the fastest mares and stallions as we see them today. They produced a high quality, strong, and versatile animal. Sprinter's speed, heavy muscling, and a gentle nature are other characteristic features of the breed. foals, horses

The breed was named after a distance it was best at. It was developed in the southwestern part of the United States: in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, eastern Colorado, Kansas, Virginia and the Carolinas. The breed is famous for its stocky build, well-muscled body, and graceful appearance. There are two types within the breed. Some breeders prefer to keep speed as a primary requisite of the breed and specialize in equines for racing; others breed for ranch work and never participate in shows for purebreds. An american congress horse quarter will have carefully bred foals from high quality stud horses.
