When you purchase a young horse, you can determine if it is purebred by the eyes. Before one year of age eyes of purebred horses of this breed are almost white and then gradually darken. Adult horses can be given a blood test to determine their genetics.

When two horses of this breed are bred there is only a 75% chance of the offspring having the right coat color. Horses with coats other than cream and skin other than pink cannot be registered. There are about 300 purebred horses registered in the USA. When you buy foals, evaluate the babies to make sure the baby is purebred.
